VimpelCom’s license portfolio covers a territory with a population of about 340 million. Geographically it covers 78 regions of Russia with about 140 million people, representing 97% of Russia's population as well as the entire territories of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia and Armenia. In 2008 VimpelCom acquired licenses in Vietnam and Cambodia.
